Most career advice starts in the wrong place.
It starts with the artifact. Fix the resume, rewrite the headline, tighten the story, practice the answers. And it can work, for a while, in the same way that memorizing a script works until someone asks you a question that is not in it.
The reason it stalls is that none of it tells you what you are actually trying to say. You end up with a well-built case for a version of yourself you do not recognize, competing against a few hundred people who built theirs from the same template.
So we go the other way. We start with what you value, what you are actually good at, and what you had stopped noticing about yourself. Then the resume, the conversation, and the decision about whether to stay all get considerably easier, because you finally know what they are in service of.
Yes, we do the normal career things too.

A ladder has one direction and someone else owns it. A craft is something you practice, refine, and eventually become recognizable for. It compounds, and it travels with you between jobs, industries, and the reorgs you did not ask for.
That is the work I am most interested in doing with people: finding the through-line in what you keep choosing, and then deliberately sharpening it, year after year, until the combination of skill and self is one nobody else in the market can copy.
This is not for everyone, and that is deliberate.

I spent fifteen years in marketing, climbed to director, co-ran a global product marketing department as an interim VP, and burned out doing it. So the environment you are describing is not theoretical to me.
Partway through, I went back for a Masters in Social Work — not to leave tech, but to understand the thing the corporate world refuses to look at: how systems, power and organizational design actually land on the people inside them. That is the part most career coaching does not have underneath it.
